WI Show the Love Campaign

16178784_1210763959009028_155336120353908956_oCrossover are getting involved in a WI initiative to raise awareness about climate change. The campaign is called Show the Love and the idea is that on Valentine’s Day we will wear or display GREEN HEARTS to remind people to love their environment, to cherish and protect it. At every session over the next few weeks there will be an opportunity to create a green heart to wear or put in a window or car or add to our display at Crossover. Here are some examples of hearts we created in our after school craft sessions.. Also, watch out for people wearing green hearts; they are showing their love for the environment!

Volunteers Needed!

**Our attendance figures are increasing which is great! But it does mean that we need more volunteers to help us run our sessions effectively.**

We especially need people to help run the cafe on our younger sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45-5:45pm. This involves making basic snacks and drinks and handling money, and also having a chat to young people when they sit at the bar!

We also need volunteers for our evening sessions (Monday – Thursday, 6:30-8:30pm). Fancy running a cooking activity, playing pool or table tennis, having a jam in our music room with guitars, drums etc or having a furious game of Uno?!

Crossover has an amazing team of volunteers who offer their time, skills and listening ears to be here for our young people. From helping in the café to make snacks and drinks, to engaging with young people and running activities or sharing skills such as art, music and cooking, there is always some way you can help us and enjoy yourself at the same time!

Crossover Timetable from September 2016

We are back to our usual timetable this week, with one change – early sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays will now run from 3:45pm – 5:45pm.
This means that young people coming from Liss Juniors can come in 15 minutes earlier which means less time between school finishing and Crossover opening. Finishing at 5:45pm hopefully means that parents who are collecting young people won’t get stuck at the train barriers!
We have chosen to make this change after consulting parents and young people. Feedback is welcome!
Feedback is also welcome on our summer programme, which we hope you all enjoyed!
